Hi,
Hopefully I am posting this in the right forum or sub-forum.
Ok so, for the last few weeks we have been getting random false alerts regarding OSPF neighbor down. When checking the routers and switches the neighbors are still up and running with no issues. Opened a ticket with SolarWinds support last week. They recommended that we upgrade to ver 10.7. So we did the upgrade last Tuesday to ver 10.7 and the upgrade went well.
Last night on the way home, we got about 20 or more alerts regarding random ports going down on our FEXes connecting to Nexus 6000 series switches. After checking the switches and the ports physically, all these alerts came from ports that are already in down state or not even connected to the network. This is the first time this has happened and never had any false alerts on ports randomly going down in the past. I am wondering what is causing this and what can we do to resolve it. It is really concerning, because these false alerts can be generated at day or night and will cause massive panic among the teams and the application owners.
Appreciate any input.
Thanks,
Reza
