We normally look at NTA for WAN links. This is specially helpful when we implement a new application that we are not 100% sure how the links willl react to the new traffic flow. I agree, with your 7 days of historical data. Users will find different way or application to get their jobs done if something is slowing them down, so 7 days is a good point of reference.
