Unfortunately not very helpful for us in that what we are trying to do is create custom views that are bound to device types so that as we add devices they naturally come up with all the right information under device views.
A very large number of device vendors are now using linux as their base platform and as such we have an increasing number of device types that are showing up under the generic category of net-snmp, these include satellite modems, firewalls, proxies, etc. Also we have a range of linux based servers that have very different functions and as such we would like their views to reflect the functions they perform.
